COLCA CANYON TOUR 2 DAYS / 1 NIGHT


The Colca Valley located in the extreme north -eastern part of the Arequipa region, a few hours north of the city of Arequipa, Peru. Here is the river Colca and Colca Canyon. During the tour you can see interesting landscapes and condors, llamas, alpacas, guanacos, vicuna and vizcachas.

DESCRIPTION

We started the tour driving our vehicle to the northeast of Arequipa, through interesting scenarios, reaching Cañahuas Reserve Pampas. In this place, located about 3,000 meters above sea level, you can see groups of vicuña and alpaca. Then get to a point known as Viscachani, where we will stop for a few minutes to stretch your legs and take a coca tea or coffee in a small restaurant. Then continue up to the Mirador de los Andes, a spectacular route point, located at 4850 meters above sea level. Here we stop and enjoy the beautiful scenery that this natural viewpoint offers. Then descend to the picturesque village of Chivay, where we will have lunch with the group in a typical local restaurant. Finally our customers are taken to Heaven Well hostel which is located on the left of the Colca river marge. Afternoon visit the popular hot springs of La Calera , a paradise, surrounded by mountains and hot springs that flow from the interior of the hills at a temperature of 80 ° C , which are combined with cold water in a pool reaching 35 ° C, perfect for a relaxing bath . Do not forget to bring your bathing suit, towels will be provided by the hostel. In the evening return to the lodge for dinner. Dinner is included in your package. RECOMMENDATIONS:
For this excursion is necessary to wear warm clothes as the weather in the Colca Canyon is often cold , especially in winter time ( June to September ) where temperatures drop considerably at night .

Keep in mind that we are traveling in high altitudes (2300m to 4800 m at the highest point. 3600 m in the valley where we will spend).

If you make this trip at other times of year can wear light clothing in the morning, but in the evenings it is always advisable to bring a coat. It is also suggested to bring a rain poncho if Colca visit during the summer. ( December to March )
